The Community Foundation for Northern Ireland is this year focusing its Foundation for Change awards on theme of Citizenship, coinciding with this as the final theme of the Year of the Volunteer.
Launching the search for 2005 nominees, Mary Black Chairperson for the Community Foundation, said:
“We realise that selecting winners won’t be an easy task for the judging panel, but we believe there are individuals or groups out there who have made huge sacrifices to make a difference within their communities over many years without thought of public recognition. Now is our opportunity to give a very public ‘thank you’.
“The Foundation supports many hundreds of initiatives every year and we are keen to honour some of the very special people who have put our funds to such good use. The Award winners will be announced at our pre-Christmas celebration on the 15th December 2005”
