The DSD have provided a summary update on the modernisation fund assessment process.
Applications received under this programme are currently being assessed by the recently appointed Intermediary Body for the Modernisation Fund Capital Programme. This process is planned to be completed by the end of January 2008.
Projects successful at this stage of the allocation process will then be subject to a robust economic appraisal before final allocation decisions on the resources available under this programme can be completed.
It is planned that these activities would be completed for projects by summer 2008.
Applicants unsuccessful in the initial assessment process will be informed during spring 2008.
