Aims and Objectives

To encourage and develop initiatives to reach isolated and excluded senior citizens in South and East Belfast and Castlereagh. To continue to work using a partnership approach and share good practice with groups/organisations which are interested in developing models of interaction with senior citizens. To strengthen the community infrastructure affecting older people in South and East Belfast and Castlereagh. To assist and support a stronger voice for senior citizens to change services. To contribute to changing negative attitudes about older people at various levels most notably Individual, Societal, Policy. To achieve enhanced social engagement of older people based on their participation in and meaningful ownership of Engage With Age activities. To ensure longer term sustainability of effective support to minimise social isolation of older people in South and East Belfast. To raise awareness of Engage With Age among target beneficiaries, agencies/funders/policy makers.
