This series of seminars aims to provide organisations with information on a wide range of policy issues which impact on the voluntary and community sector in Northern Ireland. The seminars will examine popular concepts that we all know exist, but have never really understood the meaning of. They are aimed at all voluntary and community organisations that have an interest in policy.
Paying for Peace
Speakers: Adrian McNamee, SEUPB, Michael Wardlow, NICIE and the Community Relations Council
We have all heard the criticisms of the now infamous buses and by-passes for peace, the implication being that how does a new bus contribute to peace building. But is it as simple as that? Can a strong economy help promote a peaceful society and what can we learn about the relationship between the two as we move into negotiating what will happen when the current peace programme ends.
