This series of seminars aims to provide organisations with information on a wide range of policy issues which impact on the voluntary and community sector in Northern Ireland. The seminars will examine popular concepts that we all know exist, but have never really understood the meaning of. They are aimed at all voluntary and community organisations that have an interest in policy.
Practice Makes Perfect
Speakers: Teresa Geraghty, Save the Children, Tom Reid, OFMDFM
Policy making shouldn’t be a one way street. Often it’s the people in the voluntary and community sector working on an issue that know the best way to deal with that issue. This seminar will explore cases where practice has lead to policy development and implementation. What was it about these particular projects that caught the policy maker’s eye and how can we ensure that our causes, ideas and practices do likewise?
