The Reach Project is and exciting new project consisting of 6—12 week programmes starting 19 August 2008.
Are you 16—25 and fancy trying something different? If so the Reach Project is for you!!

Getting started will help you think about what’s important to you, prepare you for work and provide you with skills for your next move.........

The Youth Achievement Awards (ASDAN) will provide a quality assurance framework for each programme with participants undertaking and completing an Award ranging from Bronze through to Gold.
It is a 3 staged training model:

Stage 1 - Engagement – Getting Started Programme

Aim - to engage those young unemployed people in a process of establishing what there needs are, the barriers they face and identifying ways of reducing them to move towards employment.
A 6 week - 4 Module programme - focused on personal/motivation skills. Training includes - needs analysis/action planning /mentoring /one to one/ job options/ job tasters/personal skills / essential skills/attitudes/aptitudes.

Stage 2 – Developing – The Next Step Programme

Aim – to provide a progression route for stage 1 participants focused on skills to move into employment .
A 6 week – 4 Module programme including Personal planning/mentoring programme/Skills for work/ work experience/Specialised skills options – IT, basic skills, driving test theory etc/Future planning/moving on.

Stage 3 – Enhancing Skills – Specialised/Tailored Check It Out Programmes

Aim - enhancing skills through specialised focused programmes designed around tailored needs to develop a range of skills to move into employment.

12 week programmes - specialised skills options for targeted groups
