The ICT Consortium NI (www.ictconsortiumni.org) is a collective of representatives from organisations within the voluntary and community sector who aim to support and promote the strategic use of ICT across the sector in Northern Ireland.
The Consortium recognises that as e-government initiatives drive the modernisation of the public sector, it is vital that the voluntary and community sector is innovative in its use of ICT enabling it to deliver the best possible services.
ICT Strategy
The Consortium has begun the planning process to develop an ICT strategy in response to government’s Positive Steps document. The process aims to engage people both online and face-to-face in order to address the digital divide within community and voluntary organisations.
Effective use of ICT has the potential to transform the way the voluntary and community organisations deliver their services to the public. The ICT strategy is an opportunity for you to have your say on ICT issues within the sector in Northern Ireland.
To help us develop an effective strategy we have relaunched our website to incorporate a blog to keep you up to date with the latest technology news and a wiki to allow users to contribute to the development of the strategy.
Have your say
This is your strategy to help overcome the problems you face. We need to know the real issues that affect you – both on a strategic level and on a day to day basis.
This survey is a key piece of work for us in developing the strategy. Your responses will allow us to work out a detailed picture of:
- How organisations in the sector are using ICT
- How funders view ICT
- The availability of ICT advice and support for organisations
- How organisations actually use their computers
Please take this opportunity to shape the way ICT is used in the voluntary and community sector in Northern Ireland by completing the survey.
