The Probation Board is calling for applications for projects which work with adjudicated offenders (offenders on community sentences and for preventative projects for those 'at risk' of offending.

community supervision signpostThe Probation Board allocates around £1,500,000 per year to the voluntary and community sectors for offenders and people at risk of offending. Further to extensive public consultation they have developed a new Community Development Strategy and Policy and funding system with focuses on adjudicated offenders and on preventative or diversionary programmes.

They invite applications from groups who are willing to support or deliver programmes for adjudicated offenders (offenders on community sentences) in the following areas:

  • Alcohol/drugs programmes
  • employment/training schemes
  • interpersonal skills training
  • personal development programmes
  • offending behaviour programmes
  • mentoring programmes

application for financial assistance are also invited from groups to provide preventative or diversionary programmes for people at risk of offending.
