Voluntary and Community Arts Policy Forum

The next meeting of the Voluntary and Community Arts Policy Forum is scheduled to take place on Monday 17 December at 2.00pm in NICVA. The agenda will focus on the Cultural Olympiad and the Programme for Government.

Agenda

Philip Hammond, Director of Arts Development at the Arts Council, and Lorraine Conlon from the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure will provide an overview of the Cultural Olympiad and the volunteering aspect of London 2012. There will also be an opportunity to share perspectives on the Programme for Government and recent funding programmes.

The Forum meets two to three times a year and its aim is to enhance the capacity of the voluntary and community arts sector to make policy responses and participate in policy development, in order to influence decision making and public policy. It is jointly chaired by Heather Floyd from Community Arts Forum and Brenda Kent from Voluntary Arts Ireland.

Membership

Membership of the Forum is drawn from across the voluntary and community sector and is open to any organisation with an interest in community arts issues.

NICVA now facilitates six policy fora for specific issue and interest groups:
