Amanda Lamb challenges people to sign up for Trek the Inca Trail 2007

Television Presenter Amanda Lamb is calling for participants to undertake the Help the Aged challenge Trek the Inca Trail in Peruto raise much needed funds for the Charity to help free disadvantaged older people in the UKand overseas from poverty, isolation and neglect.

Amanda LambAmanda Lamb said: “Trek Peru is a true journey of discovery to one of the world’s most beautiful and exciting locations, the legendary ‘Lost City’ of The Incas, Machu Picchu. This never-to-be-forgotten adventure allows trekkers to experience the wonders of an ancient civilization - to go back in time and uncover mystical Inca ruins, whilst wandering through some of the most breathtaking scenery to be found anywhere on earth.”

The Trek will also visit one of the Help the Aged projects supporting the most vulnerable older people in Peruthrough our partner HelpAge International. This will enable participants to see first-hand why the Charity’s work in Peruis so vital.

The 10-day Trek takes place between 24th May to2 nd June 2007 which gives readers plenty of time to plan and train for the challenge.

The Trek is open to anyone over the age of 18 and is the perfect way to visit this amazing country. Until Monday 7th August 2006 the entry fee is just £99, rather than £195, and participants need to commit to raising £2,800 in sponsorship money. Help the Aged will be with you every step of the way and will provide a fundraising pack, tips, advice and inspiration.
