Mulholland Aftercare is inviting tenders for an evaluation of the MACS Mentoring Project

A comprehensive evaluation is to be completed by end of January 2008 of MACS Mentoring Project. The aim of the evaluation is to examine all aspects of the Mentoring Project and the impact on young people and volunteers.

The results of this external evaluation will provide concrete statistics using a wide range of methods of data collection and analysis.

The Tender is for an evaluation of the following elements:

1) Allotment

  • To increase user involvement and provide an opportunity to gain new skills
  • Group opportunities/activities

2) Matches

  • To evaluate 20 matches in relation to the outcomes –

- Reduce isolation and loneliness

- Improve self esteem and confidence

- Opportunity to gain new skills

3) Volunteers

  • Evaluate training programme in relation to quality and skills gained

4) How does the training project fit into MACS overall strategy?

5) How does it add value or compliment the rest of MACS services

6) Evaluate development opportunities re Belfast Trust/South Eastern Trust

  • To evaluate the training on interview techniques and preparation for interviews with mentees
  • To evaluate the workshops on promoting positive mental health for mentees
  • Evaluate the support given by MACS to maintaining the matches
  • Evaluate induction given to mentees
