Minister for Social Development, David Hanson today joined residents of Spafield and Loughview Folds in Holywood in celebrating the 30th anniversary of Fold Housing Association.
Events to mark the anniversary have been taking place since June at each of the Fold Housing Association’s 110 schemes throughout Northern Ireland.
The Minister said: “The Fold’s 30th anniversary is a timely moment to remember why the association was established and to congratulate everyone involved on the very real difference they have made to the lives of people within Northern Ireland.
“Fold Housing has become a recognisable brand - everybody knows what Fold do and indeed knows where their nearest scheme is located. This is a great reflection of the success the Association has had in placing itself and residents at the heart of our communities and clearly shows that the work the Fold carries out is as relevant today as it was thirty years ago.”
In addition to the residents of Spafield and Loughview, almost 70 representatives from other Fold locations in North Down were joined by family and friends and were entertained by a jazz band and a local school of Irish Dancers.
During the event the Minister presented a Charter on behalf of Business in the Community recognising the Association’ s commitment to its Corporate Social Responsibility in the workplace, the community and the environment.
