Community Transport Week will take place between 17 and 21 September 2007 and events planned across Northern Ireland will recognize and showcase the range of services Community Transport provides as well as demonstrating how it integrates with other transport providers.
Community Transport provides a pivotal role in community life at a local level. Without community transport local groups, charities and support organisations could not exist. Many individuals could not get to shops, local services or socialize with friends or relatives.
Community Transport is the one service that really does ‘Make it Happen’ at a local level. Community Transport provides the opportunity to get out and about. This years Community Transport theme is therefore ‘Making it Happen’.
The week will culminate with The Community Transport Week Gala Finale event being held at the Rural College, Draperstown. All organisations involved with providing, using or interested in Community Transport are invited to attend.

Kellie Armstrong from the Community Transport Association stated:
"CTA is delighted to organize Community Transport Week again this year. While our ‘Making it Happen’ theme is fun it also illustrates the fact that Community Transport provides a real lifeline to members enabling them to access health, social and educational appointments.
It is a vital service for members across Northern Ireland including those with limited mobility, people living in rural areas and parents with small children."
