Cedar’s Fire N Ice Event is back for 2008 – with a brand new venue!

The Cedar Foundation is asking people from all over Northern Ireland to undertake a once in a lifetime challenge while raising funds for disabled people in Northern Ireland. Fire N Ice - a Glasswalk and Firewalk Challenge, takes place on Saturday 18 October at The Pavilion, Stormont Estate, Belfast – a brand new venue.

You can take part in either event but why not do both?

Glass walking is a fun event which is both ‘laugh out loud’ funny yet thought provoking not to mention utterly different from anything you have done before. Glass walking teaches us to pay attention; it is the fastest way to get ‘feedback’ from the world around us.

Fire Walking is an inspirational and barrier breaking experience for all concerned. In simple terms, after a motivational seminar you will walk across 20 feet of wood embers burning at 1200 degrees Fahrenheit without experiencing any pain or injury.

The effects of the training sessions will have long lasting benefits in your personal life, an increased awareness on how to achieve your goals, an enhanced view of your potential to succeed and a general ability to recognize when Fear is preventing you from moving forward in your life and what to do to change it.

You will be given exact times for the event once you have completed and returned your registration form together with your deposit. Friends will be welcome to watch the Walks (the training session is private) and if they wish to join you for the BBQ between the events tickets will be available for purchase from The Cedar Foundation. Participants only need to pay a deposit of £25 to secure their place in the Glass walk or Fire Walk event and then raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship. If they want to take part in both events the deposit is £40 with a minimum sponsorship of £260

Christine Tweedie, Fundraising Officer with The Cedar Foundation says:

“We are always trying to think of new fun ways to fundraise for Cedar. Following two fantastic Firewalk events in the past and last years Fire N Ice event we thought a change of venue was the next step. The event is certainly going to be a unique opportunity. Most importantly it’s going to raise funds to help disabled people in Northern Ireland”.

Gayle Campbell, one of the Firewalkers last year adds:

“The evening was absolutely fantastic. Firewalking is very motivational and it has certainly had an effect on my life, making me more confident and self assured. Believe me if you can do this you can do anything.”
