The event on Wednesday 11 June, to which everyone is invited, is designed to raise awareness of the introduction of Shopmobility scooters to the park as well as improved disability parking bays. Details of the improvements will be announced at the Ormeau Bowling Pavilion at 12 noon before the ramble gets underway.
Robert Scott, Conservation and Promotion Manager with Belfast City Council will join in the ramble and talk about the history and wildlife of Ormeau Park along the way.
Park Manager, Stanton Martin, said:
We have made great strides in improving disability access to Ormeau Park, improving the number of parking bays and introducing the Shopmobility scooters. We, and Shopmobility, want to get as many people into the park as possible to celebrate the improvements and to learn more about what the park has to offer.”

To help access and to give a choice of entrances to Ormeau Park for disabled drivers, disabled parking bays having been introduced at:
During the summer months two Shopmobility scooters are available from the Ozone tennis arena and two are located in the Bowling Pavilion. No advanced bookings are necessary but photographic identification will be required.
During the winter months four scooters will be available from the Ozone.
