It is an annual celebration of volunteering which runs from 1-7 June each year. The Week has a national profile but lots of local interest.
Volunteers’ Week is the time to focus on your volunteers and to reward them for the time they spend volunteering during the year.
The Volunteer Development Agency has volunteer badges and certificates which you can present to your volunteers. The order form can be downloaded online. There are also information sheets available, such as an event checklist, ideas for publicity, a sample press release and tips for contacting the media.
Wendy Osborne OBE, Director of the Volunteer Development Agency said
Volunteers’ Week is all about celebrating current volunteers and encouraging others to get involved. The resources available on our website are to assist voluntary and community organisations thank and recognise the efforts of their own volunteers. We hope that all volunteer-involving organisations, no matter their size will get involved in the Week and show their appreciation of their volunteers."
