The Northern Ireland Memorial Fund has launched a grant of £100 for those aged sixty and over who were bereaved (lost a parent, partner, child or sibling) as a result of the ‘Troubles’. The grant is also open to those who have sustained serious physical or psychological injuries or those who have become the primary carer for someone who has been injured.

sunThe Northern Ireland Memorial Fund hopes that this grant will go some way to help older people with additional costs they have incurred over the Winter months.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate how they meet the Fund’s criteria if they have not already done so in a previous application. Applicants should apply to the Northern Ireland Memorial Fund in writing with evidence of their age such as a copy of a birth certificate, passport, Translink Smart Card or medical card.

  • The Northern Ireland Memorial Fund is an independent charity established to provide practical help and support to victims and survivors of the ‘Troubles’.
  • This grant is open to eligible victims and survivors of the Troubles only.
  • One grant is available per household.
