The project is aimed at increasing ways in which social economy and finance messages get into the mainstream of the voluntary and community sector.
Through the addition of a regular social economy feature section in NICVA News and on NICVA's key fundraising website, www.grant-tracker.org, the wider sector will have access to the key messages and information it needs from a social economy perspective.
UCIT and NICVA will work closely together to co-ordinate information disseminated via FOCUS magazine and all NICVA's communication channels. NICVA and UCIT members will therefore be able to avail of up to date information on relevant events, news and best practice guidance from both support organisations.
In addition 20 UCIT members will receive free access to the Grant Tracker website to help source opportunities from further funding bodies and promote the work they do as social economy organisations.
NICVA and UCIT also invite other social economy organisations to piggy back on this project to get their message out in terms of promoting their own work, the products and services they deliver and the good practice they have built up over the years. This information can and will be presented on all NICVA's websites including Communitybuyer.org and within FOCUS magazine.
The project is hoped to be the start of a longer term strategic relationship between the two organisations which will build on their current connections and improve the exchange of information and expertise between the two.
