The Institute of Fundraising one day training course on the government's new Payroll Giving scheme is to be repeated this September at the Wellington Park Hotel and participants are now invited to enrol.

A new UK-wide training programme 'Making Local Business Your Business' has been launched for charities looking to make the most of the Payroll Giving Grants programme.

The one-day workshops cover how the scheme works, how to promote it to employers, how to establish longer term corporate relationships and more. Trevor Gill is to facilitate a one day workshop in Northern Ireland on:

Tuesday 13th September 2005 at the Wellington Park Hotel, Belfast.

Courses are £40.00 or £30.00 for individual members of the Institute of Fundraising. Fee includes a printed course manual and various other resources, lunch and refreshments during the day.

The government has recently announced a new scheme designed to encourage small to medium sized employers in Northern Ireland and throughout the UK to set up payroll giving schemes for their employees.

Employers setting up new schemes can claim a one off grant of up to £500. What’s more, the first £10 of each employee’s monthly donations will be matched, pound-for-pound, for a period of six months. That’s up to £60 extra per employee going to their chosen charity.

Charities with fewer than 500 employees have much to gain from this programme.

As employers in their own right, they have the opportunity to secure a grant of up to £500 through setting up an internal payroll giving scheme, as well as being on the receiving end of a regular, reliable donation flow.

To book a place phone the Payroll Giving Hotline on 0845 602 6786.
