The Social Entrepreneurship Programme (SEP) is intended to follow on from the Community Business Start Up Programme (CBSUP), which had been in existence since the early 1990’s.
The SEP will be based on a two-year timeline starting in July 2006 with limited numbers of places across Northern Ireland. The deliverers of the programme are currently asking for Expressions of Interest and a form can be downloaded below.
In total the S.E.P has three entry points: -
Entry Point 1 - Enquiry development
This is available for those groups, who have not availed of pre start support previously for their specific social economy start-up idea e.g. through their local LSP. The Enquiry Development component will cover pre business support including advice on business concept, researching the market & financing the project. An average of three days free mentoring support from an experienced social enterprise business advisor is available.
Entry Point 2 - Core Capability Support
This is targeted at supporting social enterprise start-ups, over the first two-year period.
The S.E.P programme will provide: -
Entry Point 3 - Strategic Mentoring
One to one mentoring for existing Social Enterprises, to develop capacity support, on strategic development issues e.g. growth, export, strategic linkages and competitiveness issues. This is open to all existing Social Enterprises, Credit Unions, Housing Association, Charities, & Community Businesses, from an expert Social Enterprise Business advisor and Specialist Business advisor.
