DFID Development awareness mini grants

The Mini Grants Scheme is aimed at organisations or networks with an interest in development education work.


The DFID Development Awareness Mini Grant Fund is aimed at organisations or networks undertaking 1-3 year projects which seek to raise awareness of:

  • International development issues
  • Our global interdependence
  • The need for international development
  • The progress that has been made in international development and that is possible.

The fund is administered locally by the Centre for Global Education, which is organizing two briefing seminars for potential applicants, one in Belfast (FULLY SUBSCRIBED) and one in Derry.

DFID's contribution to a project will be a minimum grant of £1,000 and a maximum grant of £10,000 per year.


Target Groups
The training seminars are particularly targeted at the black and ethnic minority sector, development organizations, youth groups, women’s organisations, trade unions and community or voluntary organizations with an interest or involvement in delivering education projects on international development issues.

Deadline for Applications
Please note that the deadline for receipt of applications under the 2008/09 funding round is 5.00pm on Wednesday 31 October 2007. Copies of the mini grant funding guidelines are available from the Centre.
