The aim of this call for proposals is to identify projects, which might be eligible for financial support from Environment Directorate General. This support would be in the form of co-financing grants

Air pollutionThe objective of these actions is to raise awareness amongst European Citizens and to provide information on environmental issues/solutions and on relevant EU actions in those fields.

For guidance, Environment DG is planning to assist between 16 and 30 projects, allocating a total sum of approximately €2,360,000 over projects which should address the following eight different themes:

  • Environmental communication and awareness raising
  • Promoting the European tourism sector on the Natura 2000 nature conservation programme;
  • Green forest management network for renewable energy;
  • International dialogues on the post 2012 climate change regime;
  • Researching suitable solutions for air pollution in Russia;
  • NGO twinning in the candidate countries, the Balkans, the Western NIS and the Mediterranean countries;
  • Scheme to support peer review of national sustainable development strategies;
  • Building partnerships between financial institutions, public authorities and NGOs.
A total budget of approximately €2.36 million is available. Grants will fund between 50% and 80% of project costs,depending on the theme and the call is open to a wide range of organisations.
