Measure 2.4 Pathways to Inclusion, Integration and Reconciliation of Victims and the main grants programme of Measure 2.7, Building Community Capacity and Promoting Active Citizenship of the extended Peace II Programme closed on Friday 16 December 2005. Measure 2,7 small grants remain open.

In respect of Measure 2.4, the Community Foundation has received approximately 100 applications requesting approximately £17 million of funding. The extended Measure 2.4 has approximately £5 million to allocate and thus is more than 3 times over subscribed. As a result it is likely the Measure will only be in a position to fund one third of the applications received with the remainder being rejected on the basis of lack of funding amongst other reasons.

In respect of Measure 2.7 Main Grants, the Community Foundation has received approximately 240 applications requesting approximately £30 million of funding. The extended Measure 2.7 Main Grants programme has approximately £5 million to allocate and thus is more than 6 times oversubscribed. As a result it is likely that the Measure will only be in a position to fund one sixth of the applications received with the remainder being rejected on the basis of lack of funding amongst other reasons.

The Measure 2.7 Small Grants Programme which has some £1 million allocated remains open until further notice.

Given the volume of applications received for both Measures, the Community Foundation requests that applicants are patient in respect of awaiting the outcome of appraisal of their application. The Community Foundation will endeavour to meet the service delivery standards in respect of processing times for complete and eligible applications however given the current level of demand it may not always be possible to both meet these standards and to maintain a high quality assessment process. Our preference lies with quality standards while recognising that speed is also important.
