Community Foundation opens Measure 2.7

The Community Foundation for Northern Ireland welcomes applications from groups and organisations towards Measure 2.7 Developing Low Community Capacity and Promoting Active Citizenship

As part of the extension of the EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation, the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland will deliver by way of a Main Grants Programme and a Small Grants Programme:

  • Measure 2.7 - Developing Low Community Capacity and Promoting Active Citizenship

Main Objectives

  • To stimulate and support community involvement building community confidence and cohesion
  • To generate greater involvement of citizens in the governance of their communities
  • To support groups funded under the Measure to develop and implement best practice in community development
  • To build closer links between disadvantaged communities, policy makers, politicians and wider civic society
  • To develop active citizenship in disadvantaged communities
Main grants
Normally up to £50,000 revenue costs per annum for Measure specific programmes until the 30 June 2008 at the latest. Accompanying capital normally up to £50,000 may also be available.
A smaller number of larger grants may be awarded for example to innovative and/or collaborative projects
Small grants
Up to a maximum of £10,000 over a 12 month time frame

There are no closing dates at this stage but closing dates which may apply at a later date will be advertised.
