Belfast Modernisation Fund Session

The Social Economy Network have arranged to host a funding information session on the 5 September 2007 for the social economy sector on the Modernisation Fund which has allocated funds of £15,000,000.

The definition of a social economy enterprise according to the Social Economy Network is an organisation that is able to demonstrate that it:

  • Has a social, community or ethical purpose;
  • Operates on a commercial business model; and
  • Is profit making but not profit taking.

The event will take place at Malone House, Barnetts Demesne, Milltown Rd, Malone Rd, Belfast BT9 on Wednesday 5 September at 10.30am.

Key objectives of the Modernisation Fund include activities which improve:

  • Partnership and collaboration;
  • Income generation and / or cost reduction;
  • Improved access to services )especially for people with a disability); Good relations within and / or between communities;
  • The delivery of services and facilities in support of disadvantaged children and young people(0-24 years).
