The Community Foundation for Northern Ireland has been selected as an Intermediary Funding Body (IFB) for the extension of the PEACE II Programme. The Foundation has responsibility for allocating and administering grants under Measure 2.7 Building Community Capacity and Promoting Active Citizenship - Small Grants Programme

Building Community Capacity and Promoting Active Citizenship is the title of Measure 2.7.

Small Grants Programme
The aim of the Small Grants Programme is to develop community capacity and promote active citizenship within those areas and amongst those groups of people where vibrant community groups do not exist and where mechanisms for people to participate in community development activity are not well developed.

The Measure 2.7 Small Grants Programme will close for applications at 4pm on Friday 18 August 2006.

Eligibility
Detailed information on eligibility is included in the guidelines however; Organisations employing paid staff are ineligible for the Measure 2.7 Small Grants Programme and need
not apply. Organisations currently in receipt of a large/main grant under any other Measure of the PEACE II Programme including the PEACE II Extension are ineligible and need not apply

Late applications will not be considered under any circumstances. Applications can be submitted to either the CFNI Offices in Belfast or Derry/Londonderry. Please note that applications are being considered on a 'rolling basis' until further notice.

A number of seminars have been organised as follows. These sessions will provide an opportunity for potential applicants to discuss and explore the Peace Distinctiveness and Reconciliation criteria of the extended PEACE II Programme and the challenges associated with these and how their proposed project might meet these criteria.
