Events to consult on proposals for Peace III across Northern Ireland

The Operational Plan for PEACE III should be ready for consultation in December 2006, with a period for consultation until the end of January.

The Operational Plan is the document which will outline priorities and themes for funding and details the structures for administering the programme in Northern Ireland and the Border Counties.

SEUPB
The Special European Union Programmes Body is a cross-border organisation founded by the British Irish Agreement of 1999. It manages the EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation (PEACE II), worth over €707 million, and the €182 million INTERREG IIIA Programme. It is also involved in the cross border elements of other Community Initiatives (LEADER +, URBAN II and EQUAL) and are responsible for implementing the Common Chapter.

While the document is not ready right now, the community and voluntary sector will be keen to have a say on it, and in developments coming from it. We have arranged a number of consultation sessions as of SEUPB’s overall consultation process. The results from these consultation sessions will feed into a major conference to be hosted by SEUPB at the end of the twelve week period. The full document, NICVA briefings and other resources will be available on www.nicva.org as soon as they are released by SEUPB.
