Job Purpose: To provide supervised and supportive accommodation for young people aged 13-17 who have emotional and behavioural difficulties, referred by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. Programmes of intervention will be in consultation/partnership with colleagues, young people and their families.
Contract Status: Permanent (subject to continuous funding)
Salary: Grade 4 +, Currently £16,359 rising to £24,077 per annum. (For commencement beyond the first point on salary scale please refer to salary policy).
Hours: Full-Time/37.5 per week (inclusive of meal breaks). Flexible working required which may include working on a rota basis and working weekends.
Location: Linden Services for children, 208 Ballyduff Road, Newtownabbey, BT36 6UX.
Payment: Monthly directly into bank account (via BACS)
Holidays: 26 days on entry to grade plus 11 statutory days per annum. Holiday entitlement increases after 3 and 5 years' service.
Pension: Contributory Pension Scheme applies, including Life Assurance and Private Health Insurance. Details will be provided on selection.
Essential Criteria:
A minimum of 4 GCSE's (Grade C or above to include English Language) or equivalent qualification e.g. NVQ Level II in a relevant subject e.g. child care/youth work.
The successful candidate must be registered with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC).
A minimum of 2 years' experience of direct work with young people within a structured environment e.g. youth project, residential setting, social work/care etc, which has included residential work.
Location: The Residential Unit is based in Newtownabbey.
Closing Date for completed applications is Tuesday, 9 September 2008 at 5:00pm.
Interviews for Residential Care Worker will be held on Thursday, 25 September/Friday, 26th September 2008.
A waiting list will be held in the event that any similar permanent or fixed-term/temporary vacancies which may arise over the next 9 months.
