Salary: £21,511 (35 hours per week), 6% pension contribution. This Lottery funded project works with young women in targeted areas in Northern Ireland. It aims to increase political awareness amongst young women to enable them to actively participate in decision making at all levels in our society. Funded to March 2010.

This project will deliver key outcomes for young women in targeted areas across Northern Ireland and is funded until March 2010.

Key essential criteria:

  1. Youth Work qualification or a minimum of 3 years experience working with young women in a community relations/community development setting.
  2. Understanding of the issues and agencies concerned with youth work, community education and women.
  3. Experience/skills of organising and delivering community-based education provision for young women.
  4. In depth knowledge of the political systems, structure and personalities active in Northern Ireland. Interest in and a commitment to women’s equality issues.

This is a politically restricted post and is exempted under Article 70, sub-article 4 of the Fair Employment and Treatment Order.
