Current programmes of work include: 'Janus' works with young people leaving the care system or currently resident in the community; 'Time-Out' provides 4 day emergency residential for young people experiencing difficulty at home, school or in the community; 'Youth Support' aims to prevent reception into either welfare or custodial care for young people; 'Passport Programme' is a preventative programme which promotes social inclusion; 'Strength to Strength' is a preventative programme working with families and children aged 8-13 years old.

Extern wishes to build a bank of staff to cover emergency situations e.g. sick leave, holidays, training etc. Relief Workers will be employed on a casual basis/as when required in the West of the Province.

Job Purpose: Relief Workers will be required to assist Project Workers with the delivery of the designated programme as part of a team.

Contract Status: Casual

Rate per hour: £8.39 per hour plus additional overnight allowance of £30.14 per night where applicable for residential work.

Hours: As and when required

Administrative Location: 10-12 Bishop Street, Co.L'Derry, BT48 6PW

Payment Intervals: Monthly directly into bank account (via BACS)

Essential Criteria:

A minimum of 4 GCES's (Grade C or above) including English Language or equivalent e.g. NVQ Level II in a relevant subject e.g. child care/youth work plus 2 years' experience of direct work with young people, aged 8-17 years, within a structured environment e.g. youth project, residential setting or social care/work etc.
Must have a full driving licence with access to a car with motor insurance that stipulates you can use your vehicle in connection with your business. (Please note this criteria will be waived in the case of an applicant whose disability prohibits driving but who is able to demonstrate that they can meet the mobility requirements of the post).
