To complete our expansion of schools counselling services we require a number of part-time (20 hours per week), term time Schools Counselling posts. Schools are grouped into eight regions, with a counselling team based in each region. All counsellors will be schools based, one morning per week, four schools per counsellor, with most Fridays devoted to clinical supervision or training. Those interested in full time work will combine their schools work with other telephone or project based counselling work.

Successful candidates will be enthusiastic, qualified counsellors with an interest in working in the education sector and have experience of working with young people. For all face to face Counselling posts we require evidence of a recognised Counselling Diploma and 150 hours supervised practice as an essential entry requirement. We also require an interest in, or experience of working with young people in distress, and evidence of a clear understanding of young people’s needs and issues. We value personal qualities of creativity, resilience, an optimistic and enthusiastic attitude, and the capacity to thrive in a challenging environment. Secondment enquiries are welcome.
