The Venus Blazing Music Trust is a charitable trust whose aim is to advance the education of the Public in the Arts, with particular reference to the art of music and performance. There is a focus on group education projects which bring together participants from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
Your job will be to work with the Project Leader on a Belfast based project called Goliath a Go! Go! The project takes its name from the city’s iconic shipyard crane and looks at the new face of Belfast’s cultural identity in the 21st century. Over a period of two months, participants drawn from the Chinese, Indian, African, Protestant and Catholic communities will express, through music performance, how they feel about being a part of this fast changing city. After a series of workshops devised and lead by Belfast composer Deirdre Gribbin, there will be a performance as part of the 2007 Belfast International Festival in October.
The applicants should have a proven track record in coordinating similar projects and suitable experience of the arts.
The applicant will be expected to be flexible about working hours, especially at weekends.
Please send a one page CV and statement about your suitability for the appointment.
Closing date for receipt of applications is: Friday, 14 September 2007 at 5pm.
This project is project managed by the Venus Blazing Music Trust, with funds from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the Community Relations Council.
