Age Concern believes that there are major risks to the quality of care older people receive both now and in the future if, as a result of a growing Ageing society, we fail to plan ahead.

This post provides an exciting and unique opportunity for an individual who can influence, create and command credibility with a range of stakeholders; has independence of mind; an ability to think clearly and speak with authority; a strong determination and a desire to succeed.

Age Concern wishes to enhance its key influential role at a strategic level to shape, inform and influence the direction of Health and Social care policy over the next 5 years.

Applicants must meet the following essential criteria:

  • A proven track record in a strategic policy/planning role at a senior level for at least 3 years
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge and expertise in planning and policy development in Health and Social care, housing or a related field.
  • A proven and competent ability to inform, influence and compel and convince at the highest level.
  • Have a full current driving licence and access to a car for business use, or other form of transport that meets the travel requirements of the post
