We require cleaners to become members of our staff team, providing an efficient and high quality service at any one of our projects. The role will involve working alongside a fully trained staff team to provide supported accommodation, food and shelter to residents.

Areas of responsibility

Main tasks

  1. To be a member of staff providing shelter and support for homeless people.
  2. Candidates will also be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team, are self-motivated and have good interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  3. To ensure a safe and secure environment and to maintain high standards within the hostel.
  4. Assist in stocktaking and stock control procedures.
  5. To ensure all quality assurance policies and procedures are adhered to.
  6. Other duties may be designated by the Management Team.
  7. To consistently maintain high standards of cleanliness.

Team work

  1. While on shift, you will work with other members of the staff. You will be expected to make decisions consistent with those of other project workers, as agreed by the project team.

Other

  1. To ensure all appropriate records and forms are kept up to date.
  2. To maintain all records of work necessary for the smooth running of the project.

General Responsibilities

  1. To participate in internal/external meetings as required, and attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary.
  2. To ensure that all Depaul Trust policies and procedures are being adhered to, particularly those relating to Health and Safety, Code of Practice and Confidentiality.
  3. To contribute to the effective implementation of the Trust’s Equal Opportunities Policy as it affects both the Trust and its work with service users.
  4. To at all times undertake your role in a professional manner maintaining a high quality standard of work, and to always work in accordance with the aims, values and ethos of the Depaul Trust.
  5. Undertake any other duties that may be required which are commensurate with the role.
  6. Ability to work with vulnerable people whose behaviour can be challenging
  7. You will be required to clean common areas, corridors, office spaces and bedroom floors in a 23-bed homeless hostel. Once a week you will assist in changing of bedding and laundry of same.
