1. To plan, develop and deliver a practical training programme for woodwork / joinery trainees.
2. To provide one-one supervision and support to all trainees on programme, including those on different progression routes (Apprenticeships, Training for Success, New Deal and non-accredited).
3. To provide assessment and monitoring of trainee progress and report to funders, statutory bodies and the Trust’s board when necessary.
4. To work with Officers of the Trust in establishing a NVQ centre for wood occupations.
5. To maintain accurate training logs, progress reports and progression assessments in line with NVQ standards and requirements.
6. To liaise with the Employment & Training Officer to ensure practical training complements.

Essential Skills and theoretical training.

Qualifications Required:

• Holds a current recognised teaching / tutoring qualification for wood occupations.
• Holds an NVQ assessor award.
• Is vocationally competent to deliver training in wood occupations
• Have at least 1 years experience in a similar role.
• Experience of working with disadvantaged young people.
• At least 1 year’s experience of developing training programmes.
