The Citizen Youth Partnership Community Empowerment Partnership focuses on building capacity within young people ages 6-25 to develop meaningful cross-community relationships in North Belfast. The Programme works with young people from youth and community groups and Scout groups across the North Belfast area.

The Development Officer post will support the development of citizenship programmes with young people ages 6-25, working with youth groups and Scout groups on cross-community programmes using a variety of methods including sports, outdoor pursuits, activity days and camps.

This is a fixed term contract to March 2009.

Applicants should be: Educated to degree level (preferably in community development, community youth work, community leadership or community relations), with an acceptable level of experience in delivering citizenship/capacity building programmes with young people. Knowledge of capacity building, practical ability in event organisation, communication, decision making skills and experience of cross-community work are all necessary attributes.

Salary: £16,137- £20,895 (depending on qualifications and experience).
