PC Maintenance Technician/Tutor (Job Ref: AS306/09/08)

(Full-time for 37.5 hours per week inclusive of meal breaks on a 3 year fixed term contract)
Salary Scale: Grade 4, currently £16,359 rising to £20,671 per annum (Subject to Review)

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate initiative and an ability to work with trainees with an offending background and to help them to develop knowledge, skills and qualifications to enable them to participate more fully in developing employment opportunities particularly in the Recycling Industry.

Essential Criteria

  • CompTIA A + and/or MCP in Windows 2000 / XP or Vista or an equivalent qualification
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in computer repairs and maintenance on Windows systems, Servers, PC's, Printers and Scanners
  • In-depth knowledge of PC troubleshooting and maintenance issues
  • Customer Service skills and experience of dealing with computer users and providing technical assistance to people with varied technical knowledge
  • Proficient in PC hardware installation and configuration
  • Good problem solving, judgement and decision making skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Interest in teaching and empathy with the client group
  • Full clean driving licence

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous teaching experience.
  • NVQ Assessor Award D32 D33 or a willingness to complete.
