Job Title: ICT Support Worker

Job Salary: £13,290

Fixed term contract until 31 March 2008 and subsequently dependent on funding

Hours of Work: 30 hours weekly

Responsible to: Manager of Waterside Area Partnership

Essential Criteria

  • A relevant computing qualification preferably at BTEC, HNC level or above.
  • Experience of supporting and maintaining Windows based PCs and peripherals and Microsoft Office Pro in a business environment.
  • Knowledge of various software packages specifically Microsoft Office.
  • Good standard of spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Capable of in house and external liaisons advising on PC hardware, software and peripheral needs taking into account technical feasibility, sourcing, budgetary constraints, timescale, installation and user training.
  • The ability to prepare reports and documents as and when required.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience of supporting and training end users.
  • Experience of local area networks, network printers etc.
  • Experience of development and administration of web sites
  • Own transport to facilitate travel to various Community organisations.

Duties of Post

  1. Role will be situated both in house and at external locations. The successful applicant will support and assist the Waterside Area Partnership staff and will be required to travel to community groups in Waterside as directed by manager.
  2. To support and maintain Windows based PCs and peripherals in a business environment.
  3. To ensure regular updating of Anti virus software.
  4. To implement and maintain backup strategies.
  5. To report to the Manager and to prepare reports on existing and new projects as and when required.
  6. To produce documents, spreadsheets etc. as required by Partnership Officers
  7. Any other duties that may reasonably be required by Manager.
