The leading organisation dedicated to alleviating homelessness invites applications for the following post:
FLOATING SUPPORT WORKER – RENT GUARANTEE SCHEME
Ref : AR04/02
This post is part of the Simon Community NI Floating Support Service, which is a responsive model of working providing an innovative and flexible service to individuals with specific needs, who are at risk of or have experienced homelessness.
The post-holder will assist individuals to access the private Rented Sector by:
- providing written guarantee to landlords for maximum one month’s rent
- Linking clients with landlords
- Assisting individuals to secure maximum housing benefit
- Providing support if issues should arise with the tenancy
GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalent qualification)
Minimum one year’s experience of working with individuals in at least one of the following areas:
- homeless environment
- community work
- advice agency
- assessment of need
- Access to a car for work purposes
- Ability to work in all parts of
- Belfast and the Greater Belfast Area.
Hours of Work:
35 hours per week (evening and weekend work may be required)
Salary:
NJC Points 13-17 £13,335-£14,532 per annum

Opportunities also exist for Floating Support Workers (Ref: AR04/03) to work on a casual basis, as required (generally during hours 9.00am to 5.00pm).Criteria as above.Rate of pay £7.33 per hour.
