SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF JOB
The overall purpose of the post will be to establish a network of organisations and individuals involved in the Social Economy with a view to fostering, supporting and encouraging the development of Social Economy initiatives and to meet demands for a more coordinated approach to the Social Economy.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Network Coordination
• Establish the Network secretariat by identifying and recruiting members
• Convene and chair meetings of the representative Committee of the Network
• Convene working groups as necessary
• Facilitate development of sub-regional networks
• Dissemination of relevant information throughout the Network
• Maintaining and developing links with the All Ireland Social Economy Network.

Social Economy Forum
• Liaise with Joint Secretariat in the organisation and facilitation of the Social Economy Forum.

Policy & Research
• Research growth areas for the sector in conjunction with the Research and Policy Coordinator
• in conjunction with the Research and Policy Coordinator, Agency Executive, develop policy papers arising from Social Economy Forum
• Monitoring and critiquing the impact of policy at a local level in relation to anti-poverty and social inclusion principles.

Website
• Establish and maintain Social Economy database, Website and E Bulletin
• Update Network of Website on a regular basis.

Advocacy & Marketing
• Promote co operative and social economy forms of enterprise
• Identify and champion the needs of the sector
• Promote the sector within communities and among key decision-making bodies
• In conjunction with Agency Executive, coordinate Annual Social Economy Awards and Trade Fair
• Representing the interest of groups in discussion with legal and statutory bodies, business consultants, funding agencies etc
• Contribute to marketing and promotional initiatives
• Contribute to newsletters, annual reviews and other promotional literature.

Quality
• Follow and comply with all procedures that are detailed in the Quality Assurance Manual and report issues and areas of non-conformance.

Continuous Professional Development
Take individual responsibility for Continuous Professional Development and ensure that knowledge and skills are updated and relevant.

SALARY:   £25,000 pa + pension
