The post holder will provide generalist advice to the centres clients, representing clients at social security, disability, child support and medical appeals tribunals and will provide support to volunteer staff to enable them to carry out their work more effectively.

Maintain a caseload of complex cases this would involve negotiating on behalf of clients with other statutory or voluntary agencies e.g. DHSS, housing bodies etc, accompanying and representing clients to such agencies where necessary.
Provide a tribunal representation service to clients including representation at social security appeals tribunals, disability appeals tribunal, medical appeal tribunals and child support appeal tribunals.
Act as a resource and in a consultancy capacity for other advisers on the topics specified above.
