Hours: 36 hours per week
Salary: NJC Scale 5 point 24
Leave: 25 days plus 12 statutory days pro rata

The Link came into being in January 1997. It originated from a group of concerned local Christians who formed a Management Committee to take the project forward. The organisation now employs seven members of staff and has in excess of 40 volunteers working in a number of areas.

The Link seeks to work with some of the most marginalized members of the local community. Our provision includes

  • Good Relations and Community Development within the local community.
  • Youth Drop-in and programmes.
  • Link addiction support services.
  • Totstime parent and toddler group.
  • Senior Citizens lunch club.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  1. Third level education, or recognised equivalent.
  2. At least two years recent experience of working in the area of good relations and community development.
  3. Evidence of drive and ability to initiate and develop programmes.
  4. Experience of working in, or an understanding of the Churches Sector.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Ability to work as a member of a team and on own initiative.
  7. Competent computer skills.
  8. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
  9. Demonstrate a clear understanding of and affinity with the ethos of The Link Family and Community Centre.

Desirable

  1. An understanding of the voluntary/community sector.
  2. Experience of community relations issues in a predominantly Protestant community.
  3. An understanding of the structures and networks of the various statutory agencies working in this area.
  4. Group work and conflict resolution skills and experience.
  5. Use of a car for work.
