The appointee will be responsible for the management of the Human Resources, Administration and Finance Department and staff therein. S/he will be responsible to the Chief Executive for all financial and management accounting affairs, ensuring income is maximised and expenditure is controlled within agreed limits.

Additionally the appointee will be head of HR & Administration ensuring that PlayBoard operates efficient and effective systems and procedures in line with best practice. The appointee will participate as a key member of the PlayBoard Senior Management Team, assisting the Chief Executive with the overall development of the agency.

Key Objectives

  • To advise the Chief Executive on all matters relating to the management and administration of the Agency’s finances.
  • Preparation of financial information including company accounts for audit, ensuring the prompt and accurate production of financial reports and projections, including Intermediary Funding Body requirements.
  • To manage the agency’s headquarters and local offices, ensuring effective management of estates, HR & administrative systems in adherence to legislation requirements.

Applicants should possess:

  • A relevant third level qualification and an appropriate professional qualification
  • A minimum of three years’ relevant practical experience in financial management, accountancy and financial stewardship systems including preparation of accounts to trial balance stage, preparation of annual accounts, submission of annual returns and working with external auditors.
  • A wide knowledge of IT systems and applications supported by relevant practical experience including experience of Microsoft and SAGE.
  • Personnel management experience - a minimum of three years experience required
  • Experience of running & managing an office environment.
