The Coalition on Sexual Orientation brings together lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) groups and individuals to work towards an inclusive society, which embraces diversity and where the rights of LGBT people are fully respected and protected under the law.
We have funding from OFMDFM to employ a Community Development Officer
to work across Northern Ireland, to provide comprehensive and efficient support to LGB organisations, and to progress the outcomes and recommendations of an LGB Sectoral Needs Analysis which is currently being conducted. Applicants should be independent self-starters, able to work with, and enthuse, a wide range of people. Essential criteria for the post includes a third level qualification plus two years experience, or five years experience in a community development setting; clear understanding of issues affecting LGBT people; ability to take the initiative and work methodically with minimum supervision; ability to communicate effectively; and willingness to work flexible hours. The job involves travelling around NI.
Salary: £26,835 on NJC Scale SO2.
Terms: 12 months full time
