Part-time Project Coordinator (1 year)

Hours of work: 15 hours per week. As required.


Salary: NJC Scales 31 £24,708 pro rata


Reporting to: The Board of Directors of NIWEP

Funding has been received from the European Commission under Plan D for Democracy, Dialogue and Debate and the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister.

The post which will be particularly suited to someone who is a self-starter, can work on their own initiative, is good at generating ideas and seeing these through into practical, tangible benefits, and who enjoys a sense of achievement from taking responsibility. The postholder will be required to be flexible to meet the work of NIWEP and should be willing to travel outside Northern Ireland. The postholder will be required to work from home.

Main Duties

  • Manage and develop the Women in Northern Ireland – Connecting to Europe project.
  • Manage financial controls to monitor and report .
  • Attend meetings, conferences and seminars on behalf of NIWEP and to promote the project and the work of NIWEP.
  • Prepare reports, letters and briefings, receive correspondence and handle outgoing mail and electronic mail.
  • Liaison with the Project Management Committee and attend monthly Committee meetings.
  • Support Management in sourcing funding.
  • Build and maintain a database of local contacts and manage website.


Essential Criteria

Be able to demonstrate experience of

  • project development
  • understanding accounting procedures
  • report writing and meeting deadlines
  • working on own initiative
  • knowledge of gender equality issues
  • an interest in EU policy and issues
  • Third level education.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in website maintenance.
