National Energy Action (NEA) is the major energy efficiency charity which operates in England, Northern Ireland and Wales. The charity develops and promotes energy efficiency strategies and services to tackle the heating and insulation problems of low-income households, to achieve affordable warmth and eradicate fuel poverty.

NEA has operated in Northern Ireland for 11 years. A team, based in the office in Belfast, deliver NEA’s programme of work. Following the departure of the postholder, NEA has a vacancy for the Director for Northern Ireland. This is a vital role with the organisation as almost one third of households in Northern Ireland suffer from fuel poverty.

Applicants should have senior management experience within the voluntary or other relevant sector, and a proven track record of working with a wide range of public and private sector organisations. Self-motivation and excellent communication skills are essential.
