The Northern Ireland Association for Mental Health is a registered charity concerned with the promotion of mental health and the provision of mental health services throughout Northern Ireland.

Beacon Support Services, a department of NIAMH, provides support to tenants of Sheltered Housing Schemes. Sheltered Housing Schemes provide accommodation for older people with additional support needs, these may be related to physical or mental health, or both. Beacon Support Services staff provide and arrange one-to-one or group support as required.

Based in Beacon Support Services, Daisyhill Court, West Belfast

The applicant will be highly motivated and able to contribute to the development of a range of support services to meet the needs of residents in a Sheltered Housing Scheme. The successful applicant will be expected to work a flexible rota that includes early, late and weekend shifts.

Essential Criteria will include:

  1. Educated to GCSE level standard or equivalent.
  2. A minimum of 1 year’s experience working with people in a Day Care, Supported Housing or Community Health Setting.
