Down District Volunteer Centre is committed to promoting volunteering throughout Down District by working with individuals and communities to create and sustain voluntary opportunities for the benefit of all.
Project Officer - Breakaway Project
Part time post, 20 hours per week
3 year fixed term contract
Salary NJC 22 - 25 points
The Project Officer will be responsible for developing and supporting volunteering projects amongst disadvantaged and marginalised young people aged 14-18. The post will involve close partnership work with community and statutory organisations.
The successful candidate will possess a 3rd level qualification and one year’s relevant experience of working with young people, or a minimum of two years working in a similar post. Good communication skills and the ability to relate to young people in a variety of settings are essential. The post holder will be required to travel around Down District. In accordance with Child Protection, the post holder will be required to undertake an AccessNI check.
Interviews will take place on Thursday 08 May 2008.
