The Consumer Council are currently recruiting Head of Water

The Head of Water will play a key position within the Senior Management Team with overall responsibility for establishing and managing new teams.

The Water section will have significant contact with consumers, providers, regulators and stakeholders and will provide critical information and feedback that will allow the Consumer Council to represent consumers more effectively.

Salary: £24,804 to £36,650

The Head of Water will be responsible for establishing and managing the new Water Section and will formulate, implement and review Consumer Council policy on water and sewerage related issues.

The ideal candidate should have a degree or equivalent, together with a minimum of three years’ relevant experience which will include five of the following areas:

1. policy development
2. research
3. project management
4. report writing
5. managing information campaigns
6. working with a Committee.

Experience of leading staff, managing a budget and working on a consumer or public interest related issue is essential.

A key feature of this post will be the ability to deal with a range of stakeholders including consumers, political representatives and social partners and also representing the organisation to external audiences and to the media.
