WAVE, an organisation which provides help and support to people bereaved or traumatised as a result of the ‘Troubles’ in Northern Ireland, require the following for their Derry Londonderry Centre based at 26-28 Bishop Street
Outreach Development Worker (35 hrs)
Ref: ODW/DL/11/06
Successful candidates should possess basic listening and communication skills and have knowledge of the grieving and trauma recovery process. He/she should also have good people skills and be able to interact with individuals at a one to one and group level. Interested candidates should note that this is not a counselling post.
Salary: £16,000 -18,000 plus benefits
As this post involves travel, access to a car for business purposes with including appropriate insurance is essential. This criteria will be waived in the case of an applicant whose disability prohibits driving, but who is able to demonstrate an appropriate alternative means of meeting the mobility requirements of the post.
